Empowering Future Innovators: Polar Dynamix and KMITL Collaborate on Sustainable Design Education

Dr. Wichai Pattanapol of Polar Dynamix standing with KMITL Department of Physics faculty members

Polar Dynamix recently collaborated with the Department of Physics at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), one of Thailand’s leading science and technology universities, to integrate advanced design visualisation into its academic teaching and learning. During a recent campus visit, our Chief Architect, Dr Wichai Pattanapol, demonstrated how utilising AirSketcher, a 2D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tool, allows students to intuitively conceptualise and evaluate fluid behaviour in energy-efficient system design. Equipping these future scientists with practical simulation skills supports the evidence-based insights needed to research and develop sustainable design solutions.

This hands-on experience translates the complex theoretical physics of fluid dynamics into practical applications for designing energy-efficient systems, green buildings, and sustainable technologies. This knowledge-transfer model reflects Polar Dynamix’s commitment to open collaboration between industry and academia, helping to solve real-world sustainability challenges with accessible engineering tools.

Key Pillars of the Collaboration

To provide students with skills relevant to international industry standards, the collaboration focuses on three core objectives:

  • Software License Support: Equipping the Department of Physics with AirSketcher licenses to serve as a foundational tool for both classroom instruction and research.
  • Expert-Led Knowledge Sessions: Facilitating practical, hands-on demonstrations led by Polar Dynamix specialists to transfer professional-level software techniques directly to faculty.
  • Academic Knowledge Exchange: Establishing an ongoing dialogue between our industry experts and KMITL’s academic leaders. This continuous exchange of insights and experience ensures the curriculum remains cutting-edge and aligned with the needs of the global sustainable technology sector.

Ultimately, Polar Dynamix believes this comprehensive approach will empower the next generation of scientists to tackle real-world sustainability challenges through open collaboration and accessible engineering tools.
