Optimizing Indoor Air Quality for Health and Sustainability for Faculty of Nursing, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Sakon Nakhon Campus

Optimizing Indoor Air Quality for Health and Sustainability for Faculty of Nursing, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Sakon Nakhon Campus by Polar Dynamix.

Project Scope

Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Sakon Nakhon Campus, sought to enhance the learning and working environment within the Faculty of Nursing buildings. A critical component of this initiative was ensuring an optimally efficient and effective ventilation system to promote occupant health and well-being. Furthermore, the project aimed to align with broader ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals, specifically by improving the environmental performance of the facilities and demonstrating social responsibility towards students and staff.

Polar Dynamix Solution: Airflow Analysis and Optimization

The project involved:

  1. Exploration and Assessment: Plan assessment and on-site inspection.
  2. Airflow Analysis: Utilizing expertise in fluid dynamics using AirSketcher software to model and simulate air movement, identifying areas of poor circulation, air stagnation and establishing data points for optimization.
  3. Recommendations for Improvement: Providing tailored, data-driven recommendations to the Faculty of Nursing and personnel to achieve optimally efficient ventilation system.

Results and Impact

This cooperation is designed to lead to several key benefits:

  • Enhanced Indoor Air Quality (IAQ): The optimized ventilation system will significantly reduce air stagnation, thereby lowering the concentration of airborne contaminants, leading to a healthier environment for studying and working.
  • Achievement of ESG Goals:
    • Environmental: Improved ventilation efficiency can often lead to optimized HVAC system operation, contributing to energy savings and a smaller carbon footprint.
    • Social: Prioritizing the health of students and staff through better IAQ demonstrates the university’s commitment to social well-being and sustainability.
  • Support for a Health-Focused Environment: By improving air circulation, the campus is proactively aligning its facilities with the foundational principles of health and sustainability, which is especially relevant for a Faculty of Nursing.

Polar Dynamix is proud to collaborate with Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Sakon Nakhon Campus, on this vital project. Our work in analyzing and improving air circulation supports the university’s vision for a healthier, more sustainable campus environment, driving their ESG goals and ensuring an optimally performing ventilation system that benefits the entire Faculty of Nursing community.
